I’ve come a long way since joining AEF in Sept. I’m forever grateful to Janet Bays for asking me to join AEF with her! I have struggled with my weight all my life. 2020 was a challenging year for all of us. I lost my friend to cancer last Jan, our home and all our belongings were destroyed in a fire in June and 2 weeks later I lost my Mom to a stroke. It was overwhelming and I turned to food for comfort. With AEF, I have learned it feels so much better to sweat out the stress! I’ve lost weight before, but this time is different. I’m stronger physically, mentally and I’m not starving myself. I’m not dieting, I’m making smarter/better food choices. The education and support from Amy and Lyle have been the difference maker for me. I’m so thankful for them!

The joke with me is I can do anything for 12-weeks. And then I quit. But over a year in and I’m still going strong! I am amazed at the difference. Helps that I have an immensely supportive husband at home who is 100% on board with all the changes I’ve made and accommodating my new gym schedule but I also have a whole team of encouraging people at the gym cheering on my success.
Amy and Lyle are no-nonsense when it comes to the business of fitness and eating healthy which guarantees results if you can walk-the-walk. But still manage to make classes fun! They’re encouraging and aren’t afraid to push you when you need it.

9/9/19 - The day my life changed! I committed to a 6 week challenge with Amy. I had gotten to be 183lbs. A number I hadn’t seen since I was pregnant! I had been using food to feed my emotions and I felt horrible about myself. To date I have lost 37lbs and feel fantastic! People notice and it feels good! Amy and Lyle have been so supportive of me and the challenges I’ve faced. It hasn’t been easy, and it is hard work to continue the journey somedays! I keep my before and after picture hanging in my bathroom to remind me every morning not to give up!! My daughter also reminds me that I can’t eat certain things because “Miss Amy will get mad!” I know she will tattle on zoom !!! That helps too!

Had my physical & happy to report for the first time ever in having blood work done(including in high school) my cholesterol is below 200! What is crazy is I eat more red meat than I ever have, but I don’t eat processed foods, fried foods or dairy. Last year, my doctor was talking about putting me on cholesterol medicine, I was already taking blood pressure meds & acid reflux meds, but now I’m taking nothing! I can’t thank Lyle & Amy Amy Dawn Evert for teaching me how to eat right.

I joined AEF in June of 2021 after my boss, Melissa Worthington, was talking about how challenging the
classes were for her and how much she had learned about nutrition since joining the prior year. I had
started my own journey alone about eight months earlier and had sort of plateaued and lost motivation
during Covid. I knew I needed something else. Doing it alone, I was lacking important things…support
and accountability.
Since beginning Nutrition Coaching and Weight Training with Amy, I have learned so much about both! I
have spent most of my life with such negative feelings about food that stemmed from experiences
earlier in life, and now I have learned to view food as a source of fuel for my body. I can eat carbs again,
and not feel bad about it! I remember saying ‘I just want to eat fruit’! And I do, every day! I have learned
that my body can do amazing things and I am so much stronger than I know! I wasn’t sure about group
fitness classes either, it seemed a little intimidating at first, but all these women are so supportive of one
another and amazingly fun to be around! I couldn’t think of a better way to start my day.
The reality is physically I have lost 30-ish pounds since joining in July and have dropped three pants
sizes, but mentally I have gained so much more. I have gained so much confidence, strength, awareness,
friendships, and the ability to believe that I can and will do anything I put my mind to. I couldn’t have
done this physical and mental transformation without the support of Amy and Lyle, to which I will
always be indebted, and forever support the wonderful things they do for all of us at AEF!
I love this journey. I've lost 100 pounds and I couldn't have done it without the whole tribe at Amy Evert Fitness. I'm also blessed with a family at home who cheers me on. I'm truly thankful for all of the love and support - no one makes it to the top of the mountain alone.

I started with Amy Evert Fitness in November, 2020. I had gained twenty pounds during the Covid quarantine, on top of the other weight I already needed to lose. I had tried a couple of trainers in Lexington and a gym. However, the trainers did not work for me and I really did not know how to properly use the equipment at the gym. I saw a photo of one of my co-workers and she had lost weight and looked amazing. I knew I wanted to try what was working for her--Amy’s gym… I have lost 30+ pounds since starting with Amy. I probably eat more food now than I used to, but I am making better food choices. Just as important, I have also gotten a lot stronger. I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life. And I love the camaraderie I share with all the others in the gym. Thanks to Amy and Lyle for providing the instruction and support! I couldn’t have done this without them

I joined Amy Evert Fitness in June 2021 and have LOST 50 POUNDS IN 7 MONTHS. I have gone from a size 16 to a size 8 during that time, and on top of this, I have dropped an entire shoe size. I was inspired by other successful clients in class, and worked my way up from 3 to 7 classes a week plus weekly nutrition consultations with Amy and Lyle. I am 40 years old and have been OVERWEIGHT MY ENTIRE LIFE. I have only ever been this size, once in my life, and I have only ever intentionally exercised, and sought to lose weight, twice ever. I have NEGLECTED MY HEALTH FOR YEARS, but have been trying to change my life over the last 3 years, quitting smoking after 20 years, and attempting to learn how to have a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and physical activity. I was looking for 1-1 training, but decided to try Amy’s group fitness classes and couldn’t pass up the benefit of nutritional guidance. I could only DREAM that I would have the kind of success that I’ve had so far, the kind of success I would scroll through the internet to envision based on the before and after photos of others accomplishments. I NEVER thought that this would happen to me, or that I could succeed the way that I have. A few things have made this a SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE for me and they are: the fact that I have ALWAYS felt comfortable at AEF; I have CONSISTENTLY been supported with guidance that has helped me improve my eating habits; I have been CHALLENGED physically; and I have gained FRIENDSHIPS with a diverse group of motivated and hard-working women that show up every day to make time for self-care. I am blessed to have met Amy and Lyle and am DEEPLY GRATEFUL for the selflessness they display in the work that they do with their clients. AEF HAS MADE AN AMAZING IMPACT ON MY LIFE!

My weight loss journey started in 2013, when I was vacationing with my family and was too large to get on a ride with my sons. It was devastating and embarrassing. I got home and googled weight loss surgery and eventually underwent Gastric Sleeve Surgery. That first year I dropped 120lbs and kept it off for a couple years but the problem was I hadn't fixed my mindset. Over the next 5 years I slowly regained 35lbs, and when the scale started showing over 200 again I knew I had to make a change or all the pain and sacrifice would have been for nothing. In August 2019 I found AEF. I was going through one of the most stressful times of my life. I had recently gotten custody of 4 children, in addition to my 2 boys. As a new mom of 6 I needed the outlet of the gym, just as much as I needed weight loss and nutritional counseling. Over time I started learning about whole food nutrition, my plates were fuller and I learned how to properly fuel my body. I have also learned to love myself, and make choices that make me healthier and happier. At AEF you are surrounded by an empowering force of people who recognize your strengths, build on those, and are there to support areas that need strengthening. Amy & Lyle are there to push you when you don't see your own potential, and I am forever grateful for them. Their support has helped me gain control in all areas of my life. When I first started I struggled with just body weight movement, and I am astonished at how strong I am now. I have lost 25lbs but the transformation of my body has amazed me the most, there is muscle! Amy & Lyle motivated me to want to become a Group Fitness instructor so that I could encourage and motivate people and be that mentor for someone else. I am truly stronger in mind body and spirit. The dedication you receive at this gym is out of this world!! 10/10 LOVE THIS PLACE AND ALL THE PEOPLE!!

I have always struggled with my weight and lack of self-confidence. In 2022, I made the decision to put myself first and to start from the inside out, so part of that journey was joining Amy Evert Fitness. Amy and her team taught me about nutrition and proper fitness. Were there challenges, absolutely, any journey in life has its challenges. Through Amy Evert Fitness, I have gained confidence in myself and my abilities, made connections with some very amazing women, gone from a size 16 to a size 10, have a healthy relationship with food, and I haven’t had any more thyroid issues. Joining Amy Evert Fitness has been the best decision I have made for myself and I am excited to continue my journey with AEF by my side!

In May of 2022 I stepped on a the scale and saw a number I hadn't seen before. Lots of life events had happened in the previous year and I no longer recognized myself. I started searching for ways to get healthy again and I found Amy Evert Fitness. I am very thankful I did! I found a community of people to support me, a new way to look at food, and exercises that work for me. All the trainers have helped me learn that making my health a priority even when "life happens" is important and necessary so that I am able to be my best self in other areas of my life. They tell me what I need to hear, not always what I want to hear. I need the honesty to help me stay on track. My fitness journey will always be ongoing. I am happy I can depend on Amy Evert Fitness to help me reach my goals.
